YAMAHA ADDS TURBO TO THE RX 135
Ride the lightning! Ride the New Yamaha RX 135!
A great majority of bikes have two stroke engines. They are marvels
of simplicity operating on the bare essentials, making them the
most powerful engines in the world. The four strokes are preferred
for their fuel economy, but it is mainly the power-based two stroke
bikes from Yamaha, Suzuki and the KB that continue
to dominate the speed segment.
The
New Yamaha RX 135 with its 14 bhp, 5 speed, 135cc,
is clearly focussed on pace, with little room for improvement on
appearance. The white and blue streak on the fuel tank and an ergonomically
designed stepped seat are the only major additions to the earlier
model.
The bike also sports an advanced electronic ignition that gives
longer spark plug life. It has a higher engine capacity and power
and a longer engine life. The best feature is the low decibel engine
sound in spite of its enormous power. The internationally patented
Yamaha Energy Induction System, which automatically adjusts
vital engine functions for optimum fuel efficiency and power at
all speeds, is a standard.
A
brighter headlight (12V - 35/35W) and a duplex double cradle frame
ensure good visibility and easy handling even on rough terrain.
The braking is the regular 130 mm brake drums. The rear wheel has
been fitted with the TVS ATT 125 tyre, where as the front
has the vertical grooved stock tyres. Apply the rear brake and you
almost get thrown off the seat. Apply the front brake and you keep
going and going and ...... you get the picture? A good set of tyres
perfectly balanced to provide the necessary traction is the one
thing that needs improvisation.
The glistening chrome plated classic RX exhaust, which was a standard
until now, has been replaced with a black matt finished one. The
front suspensions are telescopic fork, oil dampened and the rear
ones are adjustable 5 position, swing arm and coil spring.
With
a 14 bhp 7500-rpm engine, it delivers a top speed of 110 kmph. The
only other thing that keeps pace in the opposite direction is the
fuel consumption, which is around 35 kmpl. The cost of the vehicle
on road in Bangalore is Rs 53,044. There are various finance
options available depending on the duration of the loan. The delivery
of the vehicle is on demand and is available in attractive shades
of Black Gold, Candy Maroon and Riviera Green.
The customer support at Farid Motors said, "The response
to the new bike is very good. We have sold around 25 to 30 vehicles
in the first month of the launch"
